Astrology for Healers and Therapists – January 2019
Before I look at this month’s charts I must point out that the interpretation is mainly for therapists dealing with problematic situations. That is why I seem to emphasise the problem or negative side of life rather than the positive. Of course the charts indicate a general situation but the leaning must be for those clients or patients who are struggling in some way.
First do please note that the following is using the WESTERN FOUR ELEMENT system based in western magical and astrological understanding. The individual therapist must make the translation to the Eastern Five Element system that is usual in Shiatsu and Acupuncture theory. If you have forgotten the explanation about Elemental and Modal make up then do refresh your memory by looking back at the Introduction to Astrology for Healers and Therapists.
I look at the charts for the Sundays in January when the Sun is nearing the mid heaven for that day. Obviously this is for Haye Mill, so you will have to accept the approximation for your own geographical position but the interpretation should not vary too much from this one. It is a way of following the general trends throughout the month. Notice there are 4 Sundays in this month once again.
Last month showed a gradual change from being just reactive to there being some thought put in beforehand, although emotions could well up at any moment.
The week beginning the 6th January shows Mars once again aspected as it has moved into Aries. There is a growing concentration of planets in Capricorn. Venus has lost its line of ease with Pluto but has formed one with Mars. Uranus has formed a line of ease with Mercury, which has moved into Capricorn. Note Uranus is in fact seemingly stationary in the heavens.
Cardinal 7 – Fixed 1 – Mutable 2
Fire 3 – Earth 5 – Air 0 – Water 2
Cardinal has gained two signs from Mutable and dominates the Modal scene whilst Earth has gained two signs, one from Water and the other from Air that is now not represented.
It looks as if people are ‘going for broke’ in that the Capricorn individual is a high achiever but possibly before a major setback. So as there now seems to be a minimum of thought going into decisions things will either suddenly come together or just as rapidly fall apart.
Counsellors – I think your job will be to bring Clients back to reality. Ground them before they float optimistically into cloud cuckoo land.
Healers – A predominance in Earth is always a potentially positive or powerful healing situation. Make the best use of it but watch out for the lack of Air. Lung and Large Intestine problems result.
The week of the 13th January reveals an even more intense chart. Venus has moved into Sagittarius and together with Jupiter has formed a very strong positive aspect to Mars and the Moon. Tthese in turn have a very strong challenge to the Sun and Pluto conjunction and the Saturn and Mercury conjunction – both conjunctions in Capricorn. Uranus has lost its line of ease with Mercury but now challenges the Sun and Pluto. There are now no retrograde planets.
Cardinal 7 – Fixed 0 – Mutable 3
Fire 5 – Earth 4 – Air 0 – Water 1
Fixed has lost its only sign to Mutable but both Water and Earth has each lost a sign to Fire.
Not only is there little thought going on but neither is there much stability. Irritation and high intolerance rule the day this week. Watch the sparks fly!
Counsellors – try to turn the strong emotion from retribution or revenge into a more positive channel. Nothing will seem to stick.
Healers – you can make this one work despite the dearth of both Water and Air. Whatever you do is likely to have very powerful results.
The week beginning the 20th January sees the Sun moved into Aquarius and the two strong groupings in Capricorn now broken up. Of course the T-Square on Mars is only a temporary feature as the Moon races around the chart, as is the line of ease the Moon forms with Neptune, but Venus and Jupiter are now very much conjunct.
Cardinal 6 – Fixed 1 – Mutable 3
Fire 4 – Earth 3 – Air 1 – Water 2
Cardinal has lost a sign to Fixed and Fire has lost one to Air.
Perhaps we see the beginning of thought entering the equation again, although there is a degree of wishful thinking or fantasy mixed in. Individuals are still likely to be their own worst enemy with sudden shifts in emotional reaction still leading the way.
Counsellors – Don’t give up even if you seem to be banging your head against the proverbial brick wall.
Healers – You might do well to look at your own sense of frustration and motivation. You cannot heal everyone who asks for help.
The week beginning 27th January sees Venus and Jupiter beginning to move apart again, Mercury has joined the Sun in Aquarius, but note that apart from the temporary aspect to the Moon, Uranus is going to be isolated for a while. Not only that but where Uranus was challenging the Sun and Mercury last week, now both the Sun and Mercury are also going to be isolated! Mars is challenging Pluto.
Cardinal 4 – Fixed 3 – Mutable 3
Fire 4 – Earth 2 – Air 2 – Water 2
Cardinal has lost two signs to Fixed and Earth has lost one to Air.
Aquarius is known for its sudden shifts and accidents and here is indicated quite an about face to people’s lives and thinking. I have no idea how this will work out but some very strong motivations and emotions are in the mix.
Counsellors – Perhaps something you have said or done last week begins to bear fruit, but the whole picture is so much more balanced you ought to be able to break through defences (if required) or be listened to (if you are listening in the first place!).Healers – Despite the lack of aspects the chart shows a far more stable situation to work with. Hopefully you will not have been discouraged by the last couple of weeks but realise life is a mixture of ups and downs, even for healers.

Where is this going?
